Having discovered her latent musical gifts as early as eight months, Ronnique Hawkins was encouraged to cultivate her perfect pitch along with a stellar pursuit of academics, sports and civic duty. After moving to New York in 1996, Ms. Hawkins continued her artistry through music, acting and modeling. Performing alongside artists of different genres, from Eddie Money, to Hip-Hop pioneers like GrandMixer DXT, Valerie Simpson of Ashford and Simpson and toured with Terry and Monica the background singers to AL B. Sure.

MsRo is currently featured on Ronnie Jordon’s Jazz album ‘After 8’ and the Crew Grrl Order album. MsRO received acting and Meisner training from various top New York City schools, adding forays into fashion such as modeling for Clairol, Hype Hair, Baby Phat, Bellini, Candies, New York Sports Club, Verizon and more. The stellar talent has appeared on television soaps like ‘The Guiding Light. Featured radio appearances include Air America’s On the Real with Chuck D and Gia’na Garel, ‘WBAI’ and Hot 97, and WBLS. Toro College, NYU, The United Nations, The National Voting Rights Museum in Selma Alabama.

On behalf of her newly founded ALM Foundation, dedicated to victims of discrimination, MsRo has expounded upon her devotion to the cause, up from her behind the camera as a Producer for the Emmy Nominated Emmett Till documentary, which helped reopen the 1955 case. Latest endeavors include a fiery cut on the highly anticipated James Brown Tribute album and project, honoring the ‘hardest working man in show business’ and his wonderful “Female Preacher” artist Lyn Collins. Her masterful reinterpretation shows funky, soul slamming vocal power while exhibiting the same energetic passion indicative of all her pursuits.
