Anime Oscen and HIVE debut at Many Rivers Festival in Atlanta

October 7th, 2016

The 'North Country' act Anime Oscen and HIVE performed at the Many Rivers to Cross Festival which was hosted by Harry Belafontes' SANKOFA organization. Their 20 minute set followed Public Enemy and was a very appreciated point of folk view and Canadian humility.

Anime Oscen and HIVE comprise of lead vocalist Anime Oscen, Eric Papky on guitar and Mike Brown on percussion and keys. They hail from Hamilton Ontario Canada, hence the title of their up coming 4 track album: 'North Country' which is due later this month on SPITdigital.

Chuck D wrote and read the intro speech below debuting them to the world on a very worthwhile festival

North Country if you ask many folk

They often forget theres a nation north of here called Canada
Down here in many ways 2016 seems like 1968 all over again
Assassinations War, Government dissent disorder
38 days to a USA Presidential selection.

I came up a time where diversity in music and culture spoke
loudly while government seem confused as old laws failed.
Many Rivers reflects this

It all came together Soul, Rock, Jazz, Folk, Country thats what made music Pop

As much as we listened to James Brown, Gladys Knight and The Pips
Sly and The Family Stone, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Crosby Stills and Nash ,
Peter Paul, and Mary sang for the times to get changing

The truth of these times are once again opened by new songbooks and new artists
New folk North Country that is. New folk North Country that is.
Singing playing truth to the masses, people of the planet.
