April 13th, 2020

Safiya's anticipated released of her second EP, Worthy (2021), inspired the intimate concert series Worthy Live. It first took place in a secret Toronto location, Spring of 2019. She opened the show with an incredible uptempo intro in the midst of which she spoke to the audience, sharing with them "We are all Worthy! No matter what you have in your bank account, no matter what your job may be, whether you're on this stage or in the audience; You have to know you are Worthy just as you are. I appreciate everyone who chose to spend their Saturday night, here with me and my band." It was a small intimate space with about 60 personal invited guests enjoying unlimited wine pouring... but it felt like a larger scale act just with that intro alone The Trap Soul Queen performed songs from her first EP The Beauty Of Loyalty (2012) such as "Ride or Die" about the timeless tale of that down ass chick that loves her guy from rags to riches, plus the enchanting ballad, "The Moment" from her Acoustic Therapy freestyle project recorded in Atlanta (2010). She gave a sneak peek into her Worthy EP (2021) all in an amazing live performance format. Saf took the audience on a songwriting journey that was uplifting and warming. As a cool surprise in the middle of her set, she brought an audience member on stage who knew her on her follow up RnB/Reggae single "Best Friends", to play drums. A song in which she blended Bob Marley's classic tune "Waiting In Vain". Taking it back to her Jamaican roots. The vibes were high. She closed the show out with "Love Never Dies," a track she created specifically for her live experience. To give something special only to those who come out and support her concerts--meaning you won't be able to find it online anywhere. By the end of her show, everyone felt closer not only to the singer but closer to each other, because of the raw truthful journey she took them on. Stating, {she is}"... just a girl with a dream and keep going, never give up on yourself." Audiences felt inspired because they could relate; bringing out all ages from 19 to over 50. They love the blending of Hip Hop with Classic Soul and a splash of Reggae. It was definitely a night to remember. Sponsors for Worthy Live (2019) were S.W.I.A.A. Club, DSD Real Estate Group and Patois Pickering Caribbean restaurant.
