''Tijana Bass & Croatia's finest Hip Hop producer -Baby Dooks- combine to make a revolutionary song along with the help of Chuck D & some Balkan Trumpet Roots Music!''
Looks like there is a new revolution going on in Eastern Europe! A new sound has come out of what was just a simple idea about freedom and hope. Tijana Bass was introduced to the notorious Croatian rapper/producer David Vurdelja a.k.a. BABY DOOKS who is not only known for his production credits with some of the best Croatian rap artist but also with many U.S and world hip hop stars too. He is also a member of the famous Croatian Hip Hop group called ''BOLESNA BRACA''- they are one of the legends in the Balkan Hip Hop scene! http://www.myspace.com/bolesnabraca
Tijana's long time producer & manager Sean 'Studdah Man' De Vore made the whole historical collaboration possible when he introduced Tijana to the legendary Croatian dj and entrepreneur DJ PHAT PHILLIE known for his Blackout Hip Hop movement which is responsible for bringing most of the U.S veteran Hip Hop acts to that region to perform. DJ Phat Phillie also has one of the longest running internet blog sites dedicated to Croatian and international hip hop! http://www.blackouthiphop.com/
To make a long story short DJ Phat Phillie was the missing link between Tijana & Baby Dooks and once Phillie made the meeting possible the rest is history. Baby Dooks understood Tijana's vision and her message of Freedom which she was eagerly trying to put on a record because she feels that songs like these are missing in Hip Hop music today. Tijana wanted something different -a song that could stand the test of time, a song with a message of peace born from the ashes of the war torn ex Yugoslavian region. Tijana has accomplished that and more with the help from an American rap icon Mr. CHUCK D (Public Enemy) Baby Dooks and the Bojan Ristic Brass Band (a known Balkan trumpet sound called ''trubaci''). http://bojanristicbrassband.com/viewpage.php?page_id=9 This new sound is to be called Ethno-Hip Hop; it's a combination of American and Balkan influences. The FACE OF FREEDOM- idea was so interesting to Chuck D that he became one of the first ambassadors to sign on to this revolutionary movement along side his artist Tijana Bass; and later they will be joined by other celebrities for this cause.
The FACE OF FREEDOM video was shot in the capital of Serbia in the city of Belgrade. The Public Enemy Front man flew to Eastern Europe to participate in the video shoot directed by David Burk. FACE OF FREEDOM started out as a song but ended up as a whole project produced by the talented Srdjan Trifunovic. The first phase of the project will be reminding people about the recent deportation of the Roma in France which has many resemblances to the persecution of the Jews during World War II. One of the goals of the Face of Freedom project will be to try and raise awareness for some burning social issues that are not represented enough in the public media, including the increase in fascism and neo-Nazism in Europe and the rest of the World.
SLAMjamz Records has become one of the official partners of the project and together with the projects leader/producer Srdjan Trifunovic and Tijana's International Management & PR firm represented by Kaly Kolonic www.ekskluzivno.si only the sky's are the limits.
